The Magical Doll Maker

It is Christmas Eve, many years ago, in a small village in France where a magical toy maker has A boutique.

Village children walk by his shop windows and dream of the delights inside. A schoolmistress, Mademoiselle Moiré, and her charges have an appointment to visit the toy shopkeeper for a Christmas treat. They arrive at the boutique and find Madam Grendall very accommodating, pleased to show her work. But Madam Grendall has other dolls that she keeps tucked away. One in particular — the unfinished Ballerina Doll — will become her pièce de résistance.

This performance is presented by Seattle Civic Dance Theatre. This original ballet Christmas Story is exclusive to SCDT. The Magical Doll Maker has been shared with the community for over 30 years and is an annual holiday fundraiser for SCDT.

The performance will also feature class demonstrations with students of Dance! West Seattle.
